WHAT DATA DO YOU USE TO BUILD A RISK RATING FOR EACH ROAD?

We use federal, state and local official government data sources. To explore a sample of the the data we use, check out our data dictionary.
 


WHAT IS THE GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE OF YOUR DATA? 

As of July 2019, our coverage is about 13% of all US drivers. By Q2 2020, ODN will have coverage in all of the shaded states.

IS YOUR RISK RATING METHOD A "BLACK BOX"?

We make our data sources transparent and part of our data output. Our road risk rating also comes with information about previous crashes, traffic volume, speed, lane width, etc..
 

WHAT TYPE OF MODEL IS IT?

ODN fits the best-fit, interpretable model by state. We always preserve your ability to demonstrate the relative effect of each variable on crashes for our customers and regulators.
